more "stuff"

The aftershocks have slowed down... in frequency & in strength... but last night (1am) we had a 4.5 aftershock that shock the bed enough to get our attention. They're so infrequent now that I'm not used to them anymore and last nights spooked me & I couldn't get back to sleep. I laid awake thinking about the sponsorship letters the kids are writing (that will get mailed to the sponsors with the July newsletter). Even though Renel & I have been sleeping in our house for a few months, Pastor Luc & the kids are still sleeping outside in tents. The Children's Home is the only building on our compound that wasn't seriously damaged and the kids could move back into it as soon as they get the "word" from Pastor Luc. The kids are writing about the earthquake in their sponsor letters and almost every single one of them says they're not ready to move back inside... they are afraid of another big earthquake. I've been trying to encourage them to feel safe inside but last nights aftershock will make it a lot harder.

On another note, Renel hung the signs my brother painted yesterday...

Today, we finished taking pictures of the donated dresses...

Some of the boys were jealous...

MEI School (in Abbotsford) has been partnering with H2H for several years and does a lot of fundraising for us. They are having a "celebration" tomorrow to finish off this years fundraising and they asked me to do a video to show at their assembly. Eliyou is starring in the video and he's so cute that I wanted to share it with you too... especially since so many of you deserve a huge thank you too for all that you've done to support us since the earthquake... THANK YOU... from Eliyou and all of the other kids here!!!

I just love seeing the pictures of the kids - the one of the boy in the dress made me giggle out loud :D So nice to see they can still be kids despite what they have endured.

On a fun note, I got to meet your mom the other day when I was at PCC. It was at a distance as she was working in the warehouse and I was at the entrance, but it was SO fun to be able to do so :D My hubby and I met with Brian Buhler the other day (Brian's brother Brent is my hubby's best friend and he has known Brian for years - such a small world!) and after our meeting he took us on a tour of PCC. When I told your mom my daughter had Terianne as a teacher she said "Oh, you must be Marisa". Wish I had a picture of Brain's shocked face when she said that LOL!

Know Morgan Elem. had a clothing drive for you and they got quite a nice assortment of cloths to send down to you.

We continue to keep you in our prayers and as I told your mom, I'd love to meet you face to face some day and Lord willing, even come down for a few weeks and help out.

Love how God brings people across our path and uses them to touch our lives. LOVE your heart for the kids and Haiti (I teach Sunday School and just love kids myself) and continue to pray that God would give you strength, peace and joy as you continue to rebuild and serve the children at H2H.

I liked seeing the updates and that your site was developed. It was encouraging. Be blessed. And remember not to let fear overcome you but remember Isaiah 41:10. Prayers to you.
