I've always thought it was ironic that we consider January the beginning of the year when September seems to be the beginning of so many things.
In addition to the usual craziness of our life, this Fall is going to be a busy one for me:
1. Hasannah is in Kindergarten and she started homeschooling a few weeks ago. Let me reword that, I started homeschooling a few weeks ago... it's proving to be way more work for me and I think I've learned more than Hasannah has so far! If anyone has tips for keeping a 3 year old occupied while trying to teach a 4 year something I'm all ears!!
2. There is a new batch of high school graduates that are eligible for the H2H scholarship program if I can find the necessary funding!
3. It's time to take updated pictures of the H2H kids and help them write their sponsorship letters... that's over 400 letters for me to translate by hand! And what was I thinking having the kids make pipe-cleaner flowers to send to their sponsors?!?
4. Next week starts our family's "long stint" in Haiti - we will be there until April 2017 (minus a few weeks over Christmas).
Anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed this Fall? I was reminded in Church this morning the importance of rooting myself in God...
"For FROM him and THROUGH him and FOR him are all things. To him be the glory forever!" Romans 11:36
This fall I am going to commit to putting God back in control and allowing him to set my priorities, and fuel my passion. Without that I'm just spinning my wheels and my days will be wasted in busyness. If anyone is with me in this commitment let me know so we can keep each other accountable.
